Botox/Dysport = Neuromodulators or Neurotoxins

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, Daxxify are all brands of neuromodulators. These neuromodulators are formed from Botulinum toxin A which is a compound produced from a bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum. When it is injected into the muscle it binds to receptors and blocks the release of acetylcholine which is responsible for activating a muscle contraction. Commonly these types of injectables can take around 14 days to be fully active and can last anywhere from 8-12+ weeks. When injected properly it can improve fine to deep wrinkles, smooth skin tone, decrease pore size and much more. Common areas include the face and neck but they can also be used for excessive sweating, TMJ, overactive bladder and chronic migraines.
